Niger "Life in a Tuareg Family" Jay Dunn 27 images Created 24 Mar 2008

* * Please note: IMAGES NOT FOR SALE * * West Africa, Niger, Agadez, 2007. -- These lyrical photographs reflect the generous hospitality shown to a weary traveler. I first met Halimata Ixa-Graille and her baby Iman on an inbound bus to Agadez. In the Tuareg tradition, a house guest soon becomes a good friend, introduced to the pace and beauty of traditional life under a punishing sun, yet sheltered by thick mud walls cool to the touch. I hope these photographs will help viewers appreciate what it meant to me to be welcomed, and the kind hearts and open minds of my hosts. * * Please note: IMAGES NOT FOR SALE * *
