In a proud and colorful religious tradition from the Portuguese islands of the Azores, local residents celebrated the Holy Ghost Festival with a procession and ceremony in east Salinas on Sunday, May 29th. The Festa do Divino Espirito Santo commemorates Saint Isabella, the patron saint of the poor, and provides an important link for Azorean-Americans to their heritage.
