Isaac Dueñas, a 7th-grader at El Sausal Middle School, gets plenty of support from his mother, Leticia, and little sister Emily, 8. Gil Basketball Academy’s mission is to “support the youth of Salinas as they ‘Shoot for and Reach’ their positive goals, by participating in organized basketball camps, clinics, college tours, motivational speaker forums, field trips and trips beyond Salinas.”
