In a well-attended, all-ages music event organized by Salinas' own In Your Face Productions, five area metal bands played their hearts out on Saturday night at the Rock Boxing Gym on East Alisal Street. Appreciative fans and some enthusiastic dancers welcomed dark harmonic waves, heartfelt lyrics, and solid musicianship from Gilroy's Disruption, who opened the night, Windows of Lucidity, from Monterey, Worship, from Salinas, Gonzales' The Art of Torture, celebrating a CD release, and headliners Aethere, from Salinas. The nearly five-hour event, brought together through social media and word-of-mouth, was characterized by camaraderie and good humor throughout.
