Scenes from “Nightmare on Alisal Street,” a boisterous five-band metal show put on by independent Salinas organizers on Saturday, October 19th. Faced with a last-minute scramble to find an alternative venue, band members were undeterred, showing both patience and resilience in moving the all-ages, no alcohol event to Rock Boxing Gym in East Salinas. Local energetic trio Electrix led off the evening, followed by hard and fast sounds from Asterion, both from Salinas. Parasitic Ejaculation, from Santa Cruz, delivered a blistering set. The evening was capped off by two local favorites, Vianna, offered melodies juxtaposed with brutal passages, a distinct counterpoint to Aethere’s furious wall of noise.
